Wesley Armour Bursary


WESLEY ARMOUR’S DEDICATION TO ENRICHING THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND WELL-BEING OF ATLANTIC CANADIANS

Wesley Armour has dedicated himself to supporting organizations that improve the lives of others in his community. With the establishment of the Wesley and Patricia Armour Foundation, the family has supported countless organizations whose visions match their own. As a proud NBCC (New Brunswick Community College) alumnus, Wesley Armour and family will invest in future business leaders by providing bursaries towards two community development programs: a graduate certificate in Non-Profit Leadership and a certificate in Board Governance.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be accepted into the Non-Profit Leadership or Board Governance program
  • Be a resident of New Brunswick

For the Non-Profit Leadership program, applicants must:

  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a non-profit organization
  • Note: Preference may be given to applicants who can demonstrate work or volunteer experience with a non-profit organization

For the Board Governance program:

  • Both individual and organizational applications are available.
  • For organizational applications, training may be provided for up to 15 board members. Organizations must be non-profit organization and provide details on how the organization benefits the community.
  • Note: Preference may be given to students who identify as members of an equity-deserving group and organizations with boards of governance that demonstrate diversity, inclusion, and equitable representation in leadership and practice.

Please note: These bursaries are not available to international students.

Bursary Amount

Non-Profit Leadership - Each bursary will award $1000 per student, with a maximum of 20 bursaries distributed annually, split equally for the Fall and Winter term. The amount will be deposited into the students' NBCC account to be applied against tuition and fees.  Note: upon successful completion of year 1, applicants in good academic and financial standing may be eligible for an automatic renewal of the bursary for year 2.

Board Governance - Each bursary will award $500 per student, with a maximum of 15 individual bursaries and 2 organization bursaries distributed annually. The amount will be deposited into the students’ /organizations’ NBCC account to be applied against tuition and fees.

Bursary Details

In the event the recipient withdraws or does not meet the terms for renewal, another recipient will be selected to receive the bursary based on the criteria.

Applications will be accepted until August 16th, 2024.
