Orientation to Community Service
Course Description:
This course provides an introduction to the meaning of community service. Students learn how community service can enhance a student’s educational experience, personal growth, employability, and civic responsibility. Students participate in one day of volunteering to enhance their understanding of civic responsibility and to help the New Brunswick Community College realize its vision of transforming lives and communities.

- This course is a part of a number of NBCC programs and applies to a wide variety of career areas. The course contains over 40 short online lessons, intended to take 5 to 15 minutes to complete. Students can repeat the lessons multiple times to increase their knowledge and improve their score. In addition, each lesson contains printable, review sheets and practice exercises. Depending on previous writing experience, students can expect to spend 5-10 hours per week.
