Program Description

If you are interested in a career as a manager, an entrepreneur or working in an office, the Business Administration program will provide you with the broad exposure you need to succeed in today's business world. To succeed, every business requires employees who can respond to the changing needs of the workplace. This program trains you in a variety of areas including: accounting, financial math, marketing, management, human relations, law, economics and computer concepts. Today's job market demands capable, motivated, business-savvy individuals who exhibit proficiency in a wide range of business areas and, above all, have professional polish - this is what you will gain at NBCC. The Business Administration program includes an unpaid, business-related work practicum. This practicum is arranged through the campus and helps you bridge the gap between education and industry.

Specific Considerations

1. Graduates of the Business Administration program may be eligible for recognition of credit through the Institute of Canadian Bankers, Canadian Institute of Management, Canadian Payroll Association (CPA), Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA), Canadian Retail Institute and various other associations.

2. Graduates of the two-year Business Administration program who have achieved a minimum of a 70 per cent average each program year may be able to transfer into the third year of a four-year degree program at Cape Breton University (CBU), Crandall University, or the University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ).

NBCC is committed to furthering our university relationships; therefore, other university agreements may be available.

3. Many other universities give credit for courses completed in the Business Administration program.

4.This is a L.I.V.E. program. NBCC L.I.V.E. students have a world of knowledge at their fingertips via the NBCC wireless network. Classes that use the L.I.V.E. program are different from traditional classes because students may find themselves completing class assignments online or maintaining an electronic journal. When not in the classroom, students can still communicate with their classmates and instructors in an electronic medium, measure their knowledge through online tests, or simply conduct research on the internet. Information:Graduates of the NBCC Diploma in Business Administration who are admitted to Crandall, based on a transfer credit assessment, will receive up to two years full credit toward a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational  Management

Articulation Period:2009- no end date
Information:A full credit recognition and transfer agreement exists for all relevant programs delivered at each institution
Institution:Mount Saint Vincent University

Information:Graduates will receive up to two years credits toward a Bachelor of Business Administration degree
