Information Technology: Network Support

Our IT: Network Support program has you building, maintaining and upgrading peer-to-peer and client-server networks; applying network security protocols; and learning how to support desktop and server computer systems. Explore both wired and wireless technologies, and prepare for industry exams and other credentials. You will gain real-life experience by building and maintaining your own computer network in our fully equipped lab. You build confidence by experiencing small and medium network infrastructures using wired and wireless technology. Additionally, you configure peer-to-peer and client-server networks as well as basic network security.

• High School Diploma or Adult High School Diploma or GED Diploma of High School Equivalency

Be ready for work with any organization that has a computer network or Wide Area Network. You could also work for telephone companies, cable companies, internet service providers or small- to medium-sized businesses supporting Information Technology infrastructures. That’s not all though – some of our grads work in IT departments of corporations as a Network Support Analyst, LAN Administrator, Network Administrator, Network Support Technician, System Administrator, Technical Support or Help Desk Specialist.

High school students having taken IT120 will receive credit for Computer Application SAAL1388 delivered in first term of all NBCC IT offerings. High school students may also be given credit for Cisco Networking Academy Program courses they have taken in high school.
