Program Description

Still a fan of Saturday morning cartoons? Are you fascinated by anime and manga artwork? If you are artistic, have an eye for detail and can meet tight deadlines, then our Animation and Graphics program is for you. A career in animation requires strong artistic skills and a comprehensive knowledge of the latest in computer animation technologies. It also requires the ability to turn creative thoughts into compelling images, using them to communicate ideas and messages. Animation is more than two-dimensional displays and simple actions. Today, it is a fantastic mix of media, technology and design, in a dynamic and growing industry. Animators create cartoons, and also are involved in creating animated graphics for a variety of projects in the areas of entertainment, simulation and educational products.

Specific Considerations

Applicants may wish to consider the Media Studies program to develop their skills and portfolio for admission into the Animation and Graphics program. This program offers the formal drawing and art training necessary to cope with the advanced level of instruction in the Animation and Graphics program.
