Program Description

If you are creative and find the construction and renovation field fascinating, our Floor Installer program is for you. Work with a variety of floor coverings including rugs, tiles, hardwood, and stair coverings and specialty materials. While in the program, you’ll actually be able to lay carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile and more. Our pre-employment program is designed to provide you with entry-level knowledge and skills in core subjects combined with practical experience that trains you as a professional floor installer.

  • High School Diploma or Adult High School Diploma or GED Diploma of High School Equivalency
Career Possibilities

As a graduate, you will have the necessary skills and knowledge to obtain employment with installation companies, contractors and retail outlets, or become self-employed.

Key attributes for students registering in this program include good colour vision, hand-eye coordination, problem solving skills, mathematical skills, communication skills and organizational skills. Good physical condition is important as the work often requires considerable kneeling, stretching, twisting and lifting heavy and awkward loads.
