Power Engineering Technology (Co-op)
Campus(es): NBCC Saint John Campus
506-658-6601

Duration:The requirements for this diploma program may be achieved within two years of full-time study.
Program Description

If you would like to be an integral part of planning and problem-solving in mills, power plants, oil production and many other industries, our Power Engineering Technology (Co-op) program is for you. This program will allow you to develop new engineering skills through lab-work in thermodynamics, applied mechanics and electro-technology. Combine on-the-job work experience with classroom-based instruction on analytical and diagnostic techniques applied to power engineering problem solving and the study of power plant management principles. Your first year provides you with fundamental engineering skills, while your second year develops your advanced understanding of power engineering. Learn design, production and installation of power equipment and systems, and how to control the operation of boilers, electrical generators and plant auxiliaries. Work attachments with this industry are mandatory to provide a measure of on-the-job exposure and training. This is why you participate in a paid co-op placement when available.
