Program Description

If you’re creative and can multi-task, our Office Administration: Executive program is for you. Get an introduction to software tools and become familiar with graphics, multi-media, desktop publishing, computerized accounting and web-design tools, in addition to in-depth knowledge of business, office systems and computer skills. This program is designed to prepare you for a career in the rapidly changing office environment. Courses in interpersonal communication and business writing emphasize the importance of the clear, courteous and accurate transmittal of oral and written information. You will develop confidence in problem solving, selecting and interpreting data and taking individual responsibility for the quality of output. To function efficiently in the office of a business executive, you will learn to plan and manage meetings, appointments and calendar (including planning agendas and taking minutes), as well as make travel arrangements. Emphasis is placed on the office management skills required in an office administration executive position, an understanding of supervisory responsibilities and the development of a professional attitude.

Specific Considerations

Successful completion of 30 credits from the appropriate core and elective courses will qualify students for the Office Administration Certificate. Some credits can be directly applied to the Business Administration Diploma.
