PlacementsAll co-operative education work placements must be approved by NBCC and offer students the opportunity to apply their skills to new experiences. All work term placements must be finalized three weeks before the start of the work term.
ResponsibilitiesNBCC students must be supervised throughout the work term. A student’s job progress must be supervised by the employer, and monitored and evaluated by the employer and NBCC.
PaymentStudents are paid by the employer during the work term. Wages paid to the student should be the equivalent to an entry-level position. In no case can the wages be less than minimum wage.

- Determine that you have an employment opportunity suitable for a student
- Contact the Coordinator – Co-operative Education
- Complete a job description for the position
- Evaluate the resumes provided in application for the position. These will be provided by the Coordinator – Co-operative Education
- Interview the students that meet your employment criteria.
- Select the best candidate for your position
- Confirm arrangements with the selected student in writing
- Provide appropriate and adequate training and supervision for the student
- Evaluate the student at the end of the work term
