College offers you a personalized learning approach, on-the-job experiences and faculty that are mentors and teachers.
No matter your age or where you are in life, deciding if college is right for you can be a tough decision. Understanding the facts when it comes to what college offers will make your decision much easier; but, don't take our word for it, check out the video above to see what real students and alumni have to say about their own experiences.
What you can expect
Depending on your field of study, college programs begin with classroom-based lessons and labs. Your class sizes will be small, and taught by industry professionals. Your instructors get to know you by name, not by number, and give you the hands-on experience you need to fully understand your field of study.
Many of NBCC’s programs offer a workplace or co-op term. In some programs, multiple co-op terms are available. This gets you out in the work world building your resume, while developing your social skills, organization and work ethic.
If you plan to continue your studies after graduation, a college diploma can provide advanced standing when it comes to applying to certain universities.
At NBCC, the courses you take directly relate to your program. You won’t be asked to take courses that aren’t applicable to your field, and you won’t have to choose from a list of non-relevant electives. In college, you’re continuously evaluated and assessed on your assignments, tests, classroom attendance and work placements as you progress through each semester.
NBCC is also a cost-effective option. With scholarships and financial assistance available, getting your diploma and landing your career doesn’t have to break the bank. You can find out more about financial questions you may have on our financial information page.
