If your first language is not English the NBCC will require proof of English language competency and will accept any one of the following:

Internet based test: minimum score of 80 |
| IELTS | Minimum score of 6.0 and no subtest score less than 5.5

| MELAB | Score of 77 - 80 |
| CAEL | Minimum score of 60 |
| ESL | If you are applying to an NBCC program and you do not have the required English language competency; the College Admission Service will also refer your application to Saint John College for registration in their English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program.
For entry to the NBCC program you are required to complete Level 5 of the EAP program with a minimum score of 85%. |
