Course Objectives
Lifesaving Appliance- Required by all seafarers going to sea on large commercial vessels within six months of going to sea.
Students learn orderly abandonment of a vessel in an emergency situation, clearing the vessel, proper and effective use of equipment, coordinating survival activities during rescue operation. Lifeboats, lifeboat launching systems, practical boatwork, life rafts and raftsmanship, abandonment, and survival and rescue will be covered.
Admission Requirements
Sea Service Requirements: It is recommended that trainees acquire a
minimum of three months of sea time before enrolling in this course.
