Students acquire an understanding of the basics of payroll practices and procedures including an overview of employment standards, earnings, benefits, statutory deductions, net pay, and Record of Employment documents.
Topics will include: non-regular individual pay; regular individual net pay; termination payments; record of employment; communicating individual pay requirements to stakeholders.
The second course towards certification from the Canadian Payroll Association on successful completion of the association exam. (Certification requires an introduction to Accounting course, ie. GACG1050 in addition to payroll courses).
