Program DescriptionThis program trains students for entry level employment in those areas of the welding occupation requiring a "B class" or CWB (previously approved) welding ticket. Graduates of this program may be employed as welders in industries where metal fabrication or maintenance is performed, such as pulp and paper mills, mines, refineries, steel fabrication plants, or construction projects.

• Shielded Metal Arc Welding: Strike and Maintain Arc
• Shielded Metal Arc Welding: (SMAW) Fillet Welds, F-3 and F-4
• Shielded Metal Arc Welding: Butt Joints, Grove Welds

Specific Considerations:
Upon completion of this program, students may be eligible to test for licensing by the Engineering Services Division–Post-secondary Education, Training and Labour, and the Canadian Welding Bureau.Welding is an apprenticeable occupation in New Brunswick. Persons seeking admission to this training should:
• Posess a High School Diploma, Adult High School Diploma, or GED Diploma
Duration The Welding Program is 40 weeks long, and begins in September.
