Course Description
Topics will include:
- Summarize the history of early childhood and preschool education
- Explain the influence of learning and child development theories on early childhood education
- Discuss the development and influence of play
- Describe the roles and responsibilities of early childhood educators
- Explain professionalism and ethical behaviour for educators
- Describe exemplary practices in early childhood programs
- Interpret regulations, standards of practice and licensing
- Identify community organizations and resources to support early childhood educator exemplary practices
- Explain program models used within the early childhood field
