Program DescriptionThis 4 week training program is designed to develop and certify Motor Grader Operators with the knowledge and skills necessary in the activity and production work associated with road building and grading operations in a competitive environment.
Topics include:
- Describe and apply regulations and legal responsibilities of equipment operators;
- Comment on various aspects of Motor Grader operation on road building sites;
- Demonstrate skills and knowledge of soil, gravel and rock movement;
- Demonstrate basic skills and knowledge in the maintenance and repair of the unit;
- Demonstrate the safe operation of a the Motor Grader;
- Describe how each piece of equipment interacts with the others on a work site;
- Demonstrate a cooperative team approach using modern heavy equipment where people work together to accomplish the goal of performing the job.
Admission RequirementsPersons seeking admission to this training should:
• Possess a High School diploma, or GED, or
• Be 19 years of age or older
• Have previous industrial site experience, but this is not required.
DurationThis equipment operation program is 160 hours in duration over 4 weeks. Classes start May 24, 2010 and Jun 25, 2010.
