Program DescriptionThis training program is designed to develop certified Heavy Equipment Operators with the knowledge and skills necessary in the activity and production work associated with earth, gravel and rock movement in a competitive environment.
Topics include:
- Regulations and legal responsibilities of equipment operators;
- Aspects of heavy equipment operation on a construction site;
- Soil, gravel and rock movement;
- Maintenance and repair of equipment;
- Operation of a front- end loader, excavator, backhoe and bulldozer;
- Equipment interaction with the others on a work site;
- Cooperative team approach using modern heavy equipment;
- Perform the Air Brakes adjustment.
Admission RequirementsPersons seeking admission to this training should:
• Possess a High School diploma, or GED, or
• Be 19 years of age or older
• Have previous industrial site experience, but this is not required.
