Formed January 1, 1995 the city of Miramichi amalgamates the communities of Newcastle, Chatham and the villages of Nelson-Miramichi, Douglastown, Loggieville and several local service districts such as Chatham Head, Nordin, Taintville and Moorefield.
In the short time since coming together as one city, Miramichi has developed to a prosperous and friendly community of more than 22,000 residents. Today Miramichi boasts a modern regional hospital and a thriving business community.
With several recreational centers, bowling alley, marinas and an abundance of gorgeous river-view scenery, shops, stores and restaurants the city has plenty to offer students.
