Admission Requirements

How it all works

Complete applications will be considered in the order in which they are received as long as the candidate meets or is in the process of meeting the program’s admission requirements.

A complete application includes the following:

Complete applications received on or before November 1st will be dated as of November 1st.  However, if the number of applications exceeds the number of seats, a selection based on the average of specific subjects on the transcript(s) will be made among the candidates.

Your file will only be evaluated once your application is complete. For example, if we receive your application on November 1st and we receive your transcript and application fee on November 15th, your application will be considered complete as of November 15th.

Out-of-province applications New Brunswick applicants have priority for NBCC seats until January 1 of each year. After that date, candidates will be assigned seats as they become available, regardless of where they are from.

EvaluationWe evaluate your application based on your transcript of marks. Following the evaluation of your application, you will be advised of the decision by mail.

Processing dateThe College Admissions Service starts processing complete applications as of November 1st of each year.

Waiting listsApplications and waiting lists are not kept from one year to the next. Therefore, you must submit a new complete application each year.

Preferred programsAn applicant may apply to two programs per academic year. The application for both programs will be processed. If the applicant is accepted into their preferred program, their application for the second program is automatically cancelled.

If the applicant is admitted into their second choice and confirms by paying the deposit or confirmation fee, they will have a one-time option to return to their preferred choice should a seat become available. There is no cost for this one-time change.

If the confirmation fee has not been paid and the applicant chooses to change, they will have 30 days to confirm the change.

AppealsCandidates may appeal any decision on an application by submitting a notice of appeal, in writing, to the Director of the College Admissions Services within 30 days of the decision.
