Lois Scott – Shediac Cape

“We have to be forward-thinking to meet the demands of business,” says Lois Scott.

After graduating from NBCC in the late sixties, Scott went on to become a nurse. She worked in the emergency room at the Moncton Hospital for 23 years before working in a few roles within the Department of Health. In 1996, she was hired by the private sector, and was part of the organization of Tele-care. In the creation of Tele-care in New Brunswick, then eventually across Canada and around the world, Scott developed skills in research, planning and business development, including utilizing her skills as a health care worker. Because of her work with Tele-care, Scott’s been recognized as one of 100 nurses who influenced the first 100 years of nursing. In addition to a busy career, Scott is also active in Enterprise Greater Moncton, and is also a Rotarian. She is currently Vice President of Enterprise Greater Moncton. . She has also taught at University of New Brunswick and Université de Moncton.

Scott says she’s always appreciated the general, job-specific, more focused education that NBCC provides. She notes that her son is a graduate of the Environmental Science program in Miramichi.
