Andrew Dawson – Miramichi
“To me, NBCC is a win-win situation for students and employers,” says Andrew Dawson.
After graduating from law school in 2001, Dawson worked in the legislative assembly before working with training, employment and development. Since 2005, he has been the Atlantic Canada representative for the Canadian office of the Building and Construction Trades Department (AFL-CIO) and the director of government relations and legal counsel for the New Brunswick Building and Construction Trades Council. Dawson has a vested interest in NBCC because of his past work within government, and now as a stakeholder because of his role with the construction industry.
He believes it’s important for the construction industry to have a seat on the board to give those trades a voice. He notes NBCC can mean a lot, and he commends the college’s proactive approach to meet the needs of the student population, so they can meet the needs of industry as graduates.
