Many scholarships and bursaries are available each year for NBCC students.

Several of the scholarships are provincial in nature and students can apply regardless of which campus you are attending. Applicants for these scholarships are assessed on criteria such as academic achievement and financial need.

New Brunswick Community College Entry Scholarships
Value (Quantity): $1,000 (one recipient per New Brunswick High School)

Distribution as follow:
  • $500 at the beginning of the school year,
  • $500 at the beginning of the second semester upon successful completion of the first semester.

    Eligibility: All Anglophone and Francophone high school students accepted into a program at any New Brunswick Community College campus are eligible.

    Selection Criteria:
    Academic Record (40%)
    Extra-curricular Activities(30%)(Candidates must prove leadership involvement in student activities.)
    Financial Need(30%)(Financial need will be an important consideration.)

    Selection Committee:
    Each high school will be responsible for organizing its own selection committee.

    Applicants must submit NBCC Entry Scholarship application forms and supporting documents to their School Guidance Center before May 27.

    The
    Application Form and the Extracurricular Activities Summary Form are available at all New Brunswick high schools.

    Wage Gap Action Plan Scholarships
    Value (Quantity): one-year full tuition - up to $2600.00 (57)

    Distribution as follow:
  • Half of the value of the tuition at the beginning of the school year,
  • Second half of the value of the tuition at the beginning of the second session upon successful completion of the first session.

    Eligibility: Students who are residents of New Brunswick and accepted for the fall session or winter session into an eligible program of study, whether you are continuing your education or re-entering the school system as a mature student, may qualify for one of these scholarships. (The eligible programs of study are subject to change annually in the spring.)

    Selection Criteria:
  • Applicants must be accepted into a designated program.
  • Applicants must answer in an essay the four questions outlined on the eligibilty guidelines page.

    application forms, by May 31 for the Fall session or November 30 for the Winter session, to the:

    Canadian National Scholarships for Women
    Value (Quantity): $ 600 (3)

    Selection Criteria: Women interested in a non-traditional career at New Brunswick Community College.
  • Name of program.
  • Name of student and mailing address.
  • One page essay describing your career interest and your desire for a career in trades, technology or operations.
  • Letter of recommendation from the campus or an employer.

    The Holmes Foundation - Make it Right Scholarships and Bursaries
    Value (Quantity): $1500 (20)

    Selection Criteria:
    The Holmes Foundation's Make it Right Scholarships are designed to encourage students in Canadian colleges who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in residential renovation or construction to complete their academic training.

    Every year The Holmes Foundation will award up to twenty scholarships - $1,500 each to up to ten male students and $1,500 each to up to ten female students. The students must be in the final year of a residential construction program at a Canadian college. The scholarships will be awarded to students who are judged by The Holmes Foundation to have combined academic excellence with a commitment to a career in residential construction or renovation.

    The Terry Fox Huamanitarian Award
    Value (Quanity): $7000 (20)

    Selection Criteria:
    Terry Fox Humanitarian Awards are open to graduating secondary level students and those currently studying towards a first university degree or diploma in a Canadian post-secondary institution. For students in Quebec, you must be entering 2nd year cégep or university.

    The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award Program was established in 1982 through a grant by the Government of Canada to commemorate Terry's courage and tenacity in his cross-Canada Marathon of Hope. This award recognizes the benevolence of young Canadians and encourages them to continue in their humanitarian work while attending college or university in Canada. The program is open to graduating secondary school students and those currently studying towards their first university degree or diploma.

    Ron Smyth Memorial Scholarship
    Value (Quanity): $1500

    Selection Criteria
    Scholarships for outstanding community leadership will be open to candidates attending any post-secondary institution with priorities given to: local area high school students, members of the Zone 5 Hockey Officials and their families, students attending NBCC Moncton, graduate from a local area high school.

    The scholarships were established in memory of Ron Smyth who spent the majority of his career as a marketing teacher at NBCC Moncton. An active community leader, Ron gave a great deal of time and energy to local hockey and the United Way organization. He believed in giving back and did so with his countless efforts and hours spent volunteering and raising money. Ron believed by example, demonstrating how important it is to volunteer and get involved in your community.
