Motive Power and Construction Trades Department
Department Overview
The Motive Power and Construction Trades Department at NBCC Moncton meets the challenges of mechanical motorized training by developing alternate training programs and forming partnerships with the motive power industry and its after-market. Construction trade programs are fully compliant with apprentriceship regulations and provide for a comprehensive learning experience towards the block training.
We are expanding to allow us to meet industry needs.

Taining and Partners
Besides the regular pre-employment training options of Mechanical/Motorized and the construction trades, the department delivers apprenticeship training in Automotive Service Technician, Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP), Truck and Transport Service Technician, Commercial Trailer Service Technician, Motorcycle Repair, Agricultural Equipment Repair, Construction Electrical, carpentry, and plumbing.
Partnerships exist with almost every facet of the industry: automotive, truck and transport, two and four-wheel recreational vehicles, and their after-markets. Some training partners include the following organizations:

Specialty Programs
To meet the needs of motive power industry, the department also offers the following services:
Dealer training:
The manufacturer provides the facilities and equipment. The college provides instructors to deliver technical training ranging from electronic service information to sophisticated on-board computer systems to dealers’ technicians.
Contract fleet training:
The college trains the technicians of business, industries, and government departments with fleets of specific vehicles.
Facility for dealer training:
The college provides the facilities for motive power organizations
Staff
Instructors have access to professional development on a continuous basis through the regularly scheduled dealer training without having to leave the college.
